Community, People & Change
Design made with communities endures. Design made for them is eventually replaced.
Community is not a sector or a client type at goodstrife. It is a way of working, the belief that the people who live and work in a place hold knowledge about what it needs, what it means, and what it could become that no brief, however carefully written, can contain.
That knowledge doesn’t emerge from a single consultation. It takes time, trust, and a team experienced enough to know the difference between being heard and being listened to. goodstrife brings together designers, artists, facilitators, planners and strategic thinkers, each committed to making participation meaningful rather than procedural.
The outcomes speak to that commitment. Stronger regeneration. Greater enterprise. Better connections between people, place and possibility. Communities that don’t just benefit from what’s been built, but recognise themselves in it.
Real community engagement is not a workshop series delivered and invoiced. It is a practice of being present, accountable, and shaped by place over time.
goodstrife brings that commitment to every public realm project, co-design process, and community brief it undertakes, ensuring that the people a place is designed for are the people who helped design it.
