Our work speaks for itself.

Ardrishaig Harbour has been waiting for this building for years. The Egg Shed, opened in 2019, finally gives it one.

This maritime museum and community hub marks a major milestone in the regeneration of the Crinan Canal waterfront. Working in partnership with Scottish Canals, goodstrife transformed a historic, disused building, known locally as the ‘Egg Shed’, into a bespoke interpretation and community centre that tells the story of the canal and the communities living on its banks.

Getting that story right meant going straight to the source. goodstrife hosted a series of community engagement days at the old steamer terminal, where local people dropped in to share memories and donate artefacts, many of which now have pride of place within the building.

Taking centre stage, a giant egg transforms into an interactive space where visitors can sit, look out over Loch Gilp, and listen to the audio stories recorded during those sessions, bringing days gone by vividly, magically, back to life.
